We’ve all established by now that I’m a pretty terrible blogger. 😂 I always have the best intentions, but then…life happens.
And wow, life has definitely been happening around here!
After our cruise, the grandbabies and their parents came to visit. Not long after they headed home, my MFA photography classes started. Then Carrley came to visit, and I don’t think we sat down for more than five minutes the entire week she was here! It has been one thing after another—in the best way—but it has definitely kept me busy.
Now I’m fully immersed in my MFA classes, and I have to tell you…I am absolutely LOVING them!
I can already see such a huge improvement in my photography, and that has me so excited. I’m still not much of a portrait photographer (maybe one day!), but I’ve discovered that I genuinely enjoy fine art photography—especially still life photography. It’s amazing how much emotion and story can be told through ordinary objects, and I’ve really fallen in love with exploring that idea. Every assignment pushes me to think differently, and I’m learning something new every single module.
As if that wasn’t enough fun, our friend Stan was kind enough to let me borrow some incredible lenses to experiment with. If you’ve been following along on Facebook, you’ve probably seen me geeking out over them. They’ve opened up a whole new world creatively, and I’ve had an absolute blast seeing what they can do.
I’m going to share some of my recent favorite photos below so you can see what I’ve been working on. I’d love to hear which ones you like best!
Mostly, though, I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I haven’t disappeared—I promise! School, family, and summer have been keeping me on my toes, and while my blogging has taken a back seat, my camera certainly hasn’t.
Thanks for sticking around while I figure out this balancing act. I have a feeling the next couple of years are going to be full of growth, learning, and hopefully a whole lot of beautiful photographs.
Talk soon,
Sina
