About Me
Hi! I’m Sina—a wife, mom, grandma, photographer, writer, graduate student, wedding officiant, and apparently someone who has decided that having one creative outlet simply isn’t enough. 😂
Simply Sina started as a place for me to share life as it happened—the good, the messy, the unexpected, and everything in between. And somewhere along the way, life gave me a whole lot more to write about.
I traded Kentucky for Florida, went back to school to pursue my MFA in Photography, picked up my camera with a completely different purpose, and started building a creative life that looks nothing like what I imagined a few years ago.

Photography has become a huge part of my world. I’m currently pursuing my MFA at Academy of Art University while continuing to develop my own work, including The Women I Am, an ongoing conceptual self-portrait series exploring all the identities, roles, memories, contradictions, and pieces that can exist within one woman.
I also photograph the ordinary things—the people, places, details, and tiny moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Because I’m learning that sometimes the things we walk past every day are the things most worth remembering.

And because apparently photography and graduate school weren’t keeping me busy enough, I also became a Florida wedding officiant. Through Get Hitched with Simply Sina, I help couples who want to skip the giant production and simply get married—whether that means a quick license signing, a simple ceremony, or a tiny elopement with a few photographs to remember it by.
It wasn’t exactly part of some master plan. It was one of those “I wonder if I could…” ideas that somehow became something real—and I’m having a ridiculous amount of fun seeing where it goes.

At the center of all of it, though, is my family. My husband, Michael, our kids, our grandbabies, and the wonderfully complicated crew that comes with a big family are woven through pretty much everything I do.
There’s school pickup and laundry happening somewhere between photo shoots. There are camera walks around the neighborhood, Florida wildlife appearing where it absolutely does not belong, Disney days, creative projects taking over the house, and approximately seventeen things I probably should be doing while I’m starting something completely new instead.
In other words: life.

This blog isn’t about having everything figured out. If anything, the longer I’m here, the more certain I am that none of us really do.
It’s about creating things. Trying things. Changing directions. Starting over. Finding humor in the ridiculous parts. Paying attention to the ordinary ones. And documenting a life while I’m still busy living it.
So welcome to Simply Sina.
You’ll find photography, family, creativity, Florida life, weddings, whatever adventure I’ve gotten myself into lately—and probably a few things neither of us saw coming.
Stick around. Apparently, neither one of us knows what I’m going to do next. 😂
