Yāall, we have been basking in the Florida sunshine for almost two glorious weeks, and now, like some cruel joke, the universe is calling us back up north. But hereās the kickerāKentucky is about to get slammed with some major storms. Tornadoes, high winds, probably flying cows… I mean, have we learned nothing from The Wizard of Oz? This is not the kind of homecoming I had in mind!
Unfortunately, today is Wednesday, which means we are on a three-day countdown to our return to the stormy abyss. And not just for a quick visitānope, weāre stuck there for the next two months. Two whole months. Sixty days. I feel like I should start marking my calendar like a prisoner counting down to freedom.
But hey, I do need to get a job. Adulting is the worst, right? I actually miss workingāwell, not my last job (because yikes), but the one before that (I know it was in reality it was the same job, but so much changed!). I used to work with kids, and while I loved those tiny humans, Iāve come to the realization that I may not be cut out for it. Shocking, I know. But as Iāve been driving around Florida, Iāve seen so many early childhood centers that itās like the universe is taunting me. Come back to teaching! it whispers. And Iām like, Nah, universe, I think Iāll pass this time.
One of these days, though, Iām gonna figure out how to make money just by talking to yāall. Imagine getting paid to share my thoughts, rant about the weather, and contemplate my next questionable life choice. Now that would be the dream! Until then, Iāll be packing up my bags, bracing for impact, and trying to come to terms with the fact that my vacation is officially over.
Pray for me. And my next two months in Kentucky!
Catch yāall on the stormy side!
