How to Get Married in Florida
A Simple Guide
Getting married in Florida is actually very simple. Here are the basic steps to make your marriage official.
1. Obtain a Florida Marriage License
You and your partner must obtain a marriage license from any Florida county clerk’s office.
Both parties must appear in person and bring a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.
The marriage license is valid anywhere in the state of Florida.
2. Know the Waiting Period
Florida residents have a 3-day waiting period unless they complete a premarital course.
Non-Florida residents can marry immediately after receiving their license.
3. Bring Your License to the Ceremony
You must bring your marriage license to your ceremony.
After the ceremony, I will sign the license as your officiant so your marriage becomes official.
4. Celebrate!
Once your ceremony is complete and your license is signed, you are officially married.
Congratulations — you’re officially hitched with Simply Sina.
