Buckle Up, Besties… It’s Gonna Be a Week
Whew. Y’all, we’ve got ourselves a busy week ahead. Pack the bags, load the snacks, and say a prayer for my sanity—we’re heading back to Kentucky.
This weekend is Jimmy’s memorial service. Part of me wants to go with all my heart, because honoring my big brother is the least I can do. But the other part of me? She wants to curl up in a blanket fort with coffee and pretend this isn’t happening. Because once I’m there, once I’m sitting in that pew listening to stories about him, it’s going to hit me like a ton of bricks. It’ll be real-real. And losing Jimmy, so soon after losing Nannie, is the kind of heartbreak that just leaves you cracked wide open.
And don’t even get me started on this 14-hour road trip. Y’all already know how much I dread it. Don’t get me wrong—road trips can be fun, full of ridiculous memories, pit stops with questionable snacks, and my kids arguing over who’s touching who in the back seat. But for me? Fourteen hours of driving there, and then doing it again a day or two later, sends my joint pain into overdrive. By the time we get to Kentucky, my hands will be screaming louder than a toddler denied candy in the checkout line.
Still, it’s family. It’s love. It’s memories. And in the end, it’s worth it—even if my joints disagree.
But since I’ve got your attention and y’all are already here reading my rambles, let me just slide this in real quick: CHECK. OUT. MY. ETSY. SHOP. 🙌 You know I couldn’t resist, right? I mean, have you seen this new graphic tee design?! Simply adorable. And if you don’t agree… well, you might need your eyes checked, bestie.
So wish me luck, send me snacks, and keep me in your prayers this week. I’ll keep y’all posted from the road—because if I have to suffer through this ride, you better believe you’re coming with me.
