Raising Good Kids in a Very Confused Florida
So Quincy is doing Jump Rope for Heart at school, and let me just say… things are wildly different these days.
Back in my day, we actually had to jump rope. Like, with a real rope. Sweaty. Tangled. Occasionally smacked in the shins. Character-building stuff.
Now? Nope. Not today, Satan.
Everything is done through an app, a website, or even Facebook if you share it there. No rope burns required. Progress, I guess.
Quincy set what I’d call a modest goal for himself this time — just $100 — which is small compared to what he usually aims for. And because he’s that kid, he kicked things off by donating $20 of his own money.
So far, two absolutely awesome Facebook peeps have donated $10 each, which means he’s already almost halfway to his goal. Proud mom moment, for sure. I’ll drop the link below in case y’all want to help him finish strong.
Donate for Quincy to the American Heart Association and Jump Rope For Heart!
Now… let’s talk about this weekend. I really want to get out and take more photos, but Florida is out here acting brand new. It’s so cold that cities are canceling festivals, and apparently we could get up to a sixth of an inch of snow.
Snow. In Florida.
Who are we right now?!
Ever since we moved down here, the weather has been doing the absolute most. Kentucky, I feel like you sent your weather down here just to mess with me.
Anyway — while I wait for Florida to remember who she is — go check out my portfolio page. You can find it right there in the menu at the top of the page. Cold weather, warm coffee, and pretty pictures sounds like a solid plan to me.
