Long Days, Heavy Bags, and a Little Bit of Relief
I know…it’s been a couple of days. And whew, let me tell you—it’s been a rough couple of days at that.
Let’s rewind back to Friday. At 6:30 a.m., bright-eyed and not-so-bushy-tailed, I walked into Moffitt Cancer Center for my 210-minute Dextran iron infusion. That’s three and a half hours, folks, but spoiler alert—it turned into seven and a half.
First up—vitals. Then, they parked me in my chair at 7:30. Before I could even think about the “big dose,” I had to do a little test run because apparently Dextran likes to play tricks and cause allergic reactions. So, they slipped a small amount into my IV and made me sit there for an hour. No drama, no hives, no ER trips—thank goodness. But then, more waiting. Another 30 minutes for the pharmacy to whip up my full dose.
At exactly 11:11 a.m.—yes, I noticed the time because I was praying for some good vibes—they finally started my full bag. Two hours and fifteen minutes later, it was done. By the time I walked out of there, I had been at that hospital for seven and a half hours. Seven. And. A. Half.
But here’s the wild part: today, for the first time in three and a half weeks, I don’t have a headache. I don’t know whether to cry, cheer, or just collapse into a nap. Maybe all three.
And speaking of good vibes—I’ve been pouring some of mine into something new. I’ve started making candles and wax melts, and y’all…I’m officially in love. I even turned my Etsy shop, Simply Sina, into my candle Shop, where you can grab your own. I’ve got a collection in remembrance of my daughter, JazzyLynn, and a tribute line with four candles honoring JazzyLynn, my brother Jimmy, my Nannie, and the nostalgia of “home” back in the holler.
So if you love a cozy glow, a good scent, and a whole lot of heart—come check it out and take a little piece of JazzyRaye Candle Co. by Simply Sina home with you. 💛🕯️
