A Night of Memories, Friendship, and Baby Therapy
Tonight was one of those special evenings that reminded me of the beauty of lifelong friendships. My family and I met up with Ms. Teenie, Nannie’s best friend, at our favorite restaurant for dinner. Along with her was her son, Man—someone I spent so much time with as a child.
Nannie and Ms. Teenie worked as custodians at Bardstown City Schools, and when we were kids, they would take us along to “help” clean up after-school events—dances, ball games, and other recreational activities. Of course, we probably weren’t all that helpful, but those moments shaped some of my best childhood memories.
As we sat together tonight, sharing stories and laughter, we talked about Nannie and all the fun times we had with her. It felt like stepping back into those cherished moments. Time may pass, but the bond we share remains strong.
Even more special was the chance to spend time with Ms. Teenie, Man, and his daughter and granddaughter. There’s something about the joy and innocence of a baby that makes everything feel lighter. Baby therapy really is the best therapy! Thanks, Sadie for sharing Kimora with me!
Our time together is so precious, and I truly hope we can keep making these memories—whether in Florida or Kentucky. Distance may separate us at times, but love and friendship always bring us back together.
Here’s to many more nights like this, filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.
